Maternity Sessions

We specialize in photographing your Maternity sessions with joy and tenderness. After 10 years in the portrait photography space we understand the importance of your confidence in us, comfort during the experience and expectation for professionalism.

Pregnancy is such a fleeting and tender time. We provide a space to honor the glow, hard work and love that is growing in these moments. Here at Vanessa Rachel Photography, my goal is to make sure you and your family are comfortable, relaxed and enjoy every moment of this experience. This is an amazing and wonderful time in life and you deserve to savor the process. After your session you will have the treasure of a lifetime.... these moments of expectation go by so fast, don't miss it!

We serve clients in Cypress, Tomball, Katy, The Woodlands and greater Houston area in a studio setting or outdoor location.

How do I inquire about or book a session?

Contacting us is super easy! Simply fill out the contact for here on the website to let us know the type of session you need. We will reach out within 48 hours to discuss availability and details. A deposit may be required to secure your date.

What should I wear for my photoshoot?

Wear outfits that make you feel confident and comfortable. Solid colors, minimal patterns, flowing fabrics and coordinating (but not matching) outfits work best for group photos. We’re happy to provide styling tips, just ask for our guide!

How long does a photoshoot take?

Session lengths vary depending on the type of shoot. Portrait sessions typically last 45 minutes to an hour, while more extensive sessions such as newborn, can take several hours.

When will I receive my photos?

Editing takes time to ensure the best quality. We process all images in-house, no outsourcing. Most sessions are delivered within 2-3 weeks depending on the volume of photos taken. Rush processing may be available upon request.

When should I schedule my maternity session?

We suggest the timeframe between 28-32 weeks for maternity photos. For your comfort and confidence it's best to get them done before you are feeling too fatigued during the last trimester. Our session openings tend to fill each month, so be sure to inquire and book early to reserve your preferred date.

What happens if the weather is bad for an outdoor session?

If the weather doesn’t cooperate, we can reschedule for another day or move the session to an indoor location. We’ll stay in touch and make the best decision together.

Are children and spouse included in Maternity and Newborn photos?

Yes! We want this to be a family experience, just like every day at home. Some of the most precious images are older siblings interacting with the new baby. We would not want to miss that!

Do you provide props or wardrobe options?

Yes! We have a variety of props, wraps, headbands, girls and boys outfits plus quite a few beautiful dresses for Maternity and Newborn sessions in our Client Closet. We also have some very special (Tutu du Monde) little girl dresses for family and milestone portraits.
